"The feel is as important as the designs," says Krisabelle Ann Tan, who achieved this perfect balance with the launch of her new label Lanston. A modern, luxurious and affordable fashion basics collection, Lanston provides timeless pieces in the contemporary market.

The Los Angeles based brand launched in Fall 2009 with a selection of tops—tanks, tees, and long sleeves—with a few accent pieces like dresses, jackets and cardigans all made from sumptuous, fine-gauge fabrics.

Lanston is the sibling to Tan's first successful collection, Krisa, which launched in 2004. Krisa started as wardrobe staples but evolved into a full collection. With the growth of her eponymous line, Tan began missing her tees and basics.

"I looked at Krisa and felt that the layering pieces and tees I started with were no longer part of the brand," says Tan. "I wanted to keep the same conversation but change the language, which is why I created Lanston."

Lanston features stitching details, flattering fits, and simple shapes, creating a clean and sophisticated look. The fabric is new and fresh and soft as cashmere. It's sexy yet boyish, but still feminine.
